What do you all think is the best upright vacuum?
My vacuum just quit and it’s beyond repair…(my mom’s old garage sale find 1980’s Kirby) It was an awesome vacuum cleaner, and served me well. Although I would really love to have another Kirby, I’ve heard that vacuums have come a long way in the past few years and that there are a lot of great vacuums on the market now.
I’m just curious as to what you all use/prefer when it comes to a vacuum. I was thinking about getting the Kenmore Elite because it’s got a Consumer Best Buy rating, so if any o f you have this vac let me know how it’s working out for you. I was also thinking about a Dyson, but I’ve heard mixed things about those too. Any insight you all have would be great! Thank you!
As soon as I saw your question, the first thing that popped into my mind was “Kirby!” — only to see the rest of the question.
Honestly, I cannot give you a good answer. I just retired my Kenmore for a Eureka, and I cannot give you a good answer about it’s performance. The jury is still out. It’s a bagless, and just don’t know how I can evaluate it right now.
If I could find one, I would still opt for one of those heavy Kirbys. Perhaps you could pay to have it serviced, and returned to service? Just a thought. You sure can’t beat them for suction.
